You will have an opportunity to shape the future of the National Library of Medicine (NLM)! NLM is implementing initiatives from its strategic plan, NLM Strategic Plan 2017-2027: A Platform for Biomedical Discovery and Data-Powered Health, and this position is expected to play a key role in providing high-quality services to the public and research communities.
This position is that of Unit Head for one of the three units in the Collection Development and Acquisitions Section. The Section is responsible for ensuring that the NLM selects and acquires biomedical literature for the modern NLM collection, including print and electronic resources and other digital content according to the guidelines of the Collection Development Manual of the National Library of Medicine. Major areas of responsibility include managing a program for negotiating license agreements for access to electronic journals and other electronic information resources and supporting the application and review processes for selecting journals for NLM literature databases. This position supervises eight professional librarians, technical information specialists, and library technical support personnel.
This position is listed as Supervisory Librarian GS-1410-13 with a salary range from $99,172 to $128,920 per year.
