Starting salary: $43,034 – $49,500 per year; full salary maximum – $68,851.

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs cataloging duties at the professional librarian level, with primary responsibilities to include maintaining bibliographic records for the library’s digital products. Assists the head cataloger or may lead with system reports and special projects. Assists head cataloger with authority control and maintenance of bibliographic records. Trains staff, when appropriate, on cataloging related issues and assists staff with cataloging related questions. Performs other duties as assigned. Meets minimum public service hours as defined by Library Administration.
A Master of Library Science degree or other Master’s degree in an approved library related curriculum from an accredited ALA institution; Ability to obtain State of Maryland Department of Education Professional Librarian Certification within six months of hire; One year of cataloging experience including both original and copy cataloging; Experience cataloging digital resources; Knowledge of cataloging tools and resources (DDC, LCSH, MarcEdit, RDA, and AACR2); Strong computer skills; Knowledge of or willing to learn regular expressions and SQL; Ability to work day, evening, and weekends hours.
