Director of Library, University of Arkansas at Monticello, Monticello, AR

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applications for the position of Director of Library. This is a 12-month, tenure-track, faculty position.  UAM, one of eleven campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock.  UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs.

Responsibilities: The Director of Library will provide leadership in developing and expanding the library services program at UAM; develop, present, and implement the budget to accomplish planned goals; coordinate the Library activities with academic programs in UAM’s schools; hire, supervise, and encourage the professional development of library professionals and staff; plan for and establish priorities and policies for the development of collections, and public and technical services; develop and articulate a vision of the Library’s central role in the mission of the university.  The Library Director reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
