Mercer University seeks an enthusiastic, creative, collegial, and service-oriented Licensed Content Librarian who will be the point of contact in managing the life cycle of licensed electronic resources for the University Libraries. As a member of the University Libraries Technical Services & Systems Department, the Licensed Content Librarian interacts with library colleagues across the University to facilitate access to electronic resources and to provide data support to inform content management decisions.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will manage licensed content for the University Libraries (Tarver Library/Macon, Swilley Library/Atlanta, and Regional Academic Center locations).
The primary duties include:
— Collaborating with the University Library community to administer the electronic resources life cycle from licensing to delivery.
— Serving as the contact with publishers/vendors for establishing trials, negotiating best pricing and licensing, activation of resources, and discontinuation of cancelled resources.
— Maintaining accurate databases/records for tracking electronic resources licenses, including establishment and use of ERM software and other programs as appropriate.
— Serving as collector and disseminator of usage statistics and other data needed for informed collection management decisions.
