FACULTY POSITION IN LIBRARY SCIENCE (Tenure Track) DATE OF APPOINTMENT:  Late August, 2012 QUALIFICATIONS:  A master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited institution is required.  The ability to teach computer application software (such as Microsoft Office) in a classroom setting is required.

The ability to teach, to advise and counsel with students and faculty, and to work cooperatively with other library faculty and staff are strongly desired.  Successful library experience and competence in technical service areas are desirable. THE POSITION:  Perkins Library seeks a progressive, service-oriented librarian with a broad range of current skills and interests to assume responsibility for technical services and instruction in the use of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.  Primary responsibilities include cataloging, serials control, oversight of acquisitions processes, and teaching sections of “Introduction to Computer Tools.”  Shared responsibilities include bibliographic instruction, web page development, reference services, and collection development.  This is a tenure track position.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.  For more detailed information consult www.hastings.edu/librarianjob.
