Cataloging & Metadata Librarian

The cataloging and metadata librarian is responsible for original cataloging and cataloging projects for new and retrospective materials not currently included in the online catalog, including books, serials, microforms, electronic materials and other special project materials. ALA-accredited M.L.S. required. Undergraduate degree in a subject taught at SCAD preferred along with knowledge of art, architecture and/or design. Two or more years of previous experience in cataloging required, preferably in an academic library. This position requires working knowledge of all MARC formats, AACR2r, and LCSH/LC classification schedules as well as experience in using online services and CD-ROM products. Familiarity with automated cataloging systems and professional trends in cataloging as well as knowledge of the Innovative Millennium system preferred.
