Technical Services Manager

Plans and coordinates the operation of the Technical Services Department.  Includes maintaining the bibliographic database; cataloging and classifying library materials; coordinating and supervising the ordering, receiving, processing, and repair of library materials; maintaining inventory and records of all library materials; serving as staff and vendor liaison for all integrated library systems (ILS) and technology issues including software upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting ILS problems and notifying ILS vendor, the Appomattox Regional Library and/or Director of unusual problems; assisting in training staff in using the library’s technology; serving as chair of the Collection Development Team which supervises and evaluates the materials collection for the library system; participating in the planning, evaluation, and implementation of policies and plans; preparing reports and statistics; participating in the hiring, evaluating, and supervising subordinates and volunteers.
