Bridwell Library seeks an energetic, forward thinking and service-oriented individual for the position of Periodicals and Electronic Resources Librarian. Bridwell Library of the Perkins School of Theology is Southern Methodist University’s primary resource for research collections in the fields of religion and theology.

Position Summary:
The Periodicals and Electronic Resources Librarian will manage all aspects of periodicals and electronic resources. Responsibilities include the acquisition, cataloging, storage, maintenance, preservation, access and record keeping for periodicals (electronic and print), electronic serials, e-books, databases, and other electronic resources. The position will have leadership responsibility for monitoring trends in the emerging bibliographic standards and management of electronic resources.

Required qualifications include: Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited program. A minimum of two years of work experience in an academic library’s technical services department. Working knowledge of OCLC, AACR2, MARC, and online library systems. Coursework in cataloging or equivalent experience.
