Supervisor of Serials and Electronic Resources

Responsibilities: The Division of Libraries at New York University (NYU) seeks an experienced Supervisor of Serials and Electronic Resources in the Knowledge Access and Resource Management Services (KARMS) Department (this is a non-Librarian position). The Supervisor will: Develop, implement, analyze, and document Unit’s processes and workflows. Establish priorities, review work for accuracy, troubleshoot and resolve problems. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance. Keep Unit staff informed of Unit, Departmental and Library wide activities. Conduct regular reviews with Unit staff, oversee staff development and establish working goals for individual staff. Serve as a resource for consortium libraries on matters related to serials and electronic resources. In consultation with KARMS Department Heads, assist with the development and implementation of KARMS policies and procedures.  

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ ordering or cataloging and bibliographic data experience in an academic library including staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with and supervise a large, diverse staff. Knowledge of standard office software (Word, Excel, Access) and working knowledge of OCLC including Connexion Client, and Open URL resolver software.
