Position Title: Head, Electronic Resources and Serials
Position Type: Faculty (Tenure Track)

Rowland Medical Library of the University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks a librarian at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Head of Electronic Resources and Serials.  This position will provide leadership and professional expertise in the management of library electronic resources and serials, including responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising the workflow for serials data in the ILS serials module (Horizon), EJM (TDNet), Serhold, link resolver, and databases. Other duties: Trains, supervises, and evaluates two serials division staff.  Prepares reports and departmental statistics.  Maintains and uploads appropriate items in LOCKSS. Works directly with providers and subscription agents for database and journal subscriptions in all formats for renewals, cancellations, new orders, invoices and claims, and resolves access problems for e-serials. Utilizes listserves to identify, evaluate, and add quality ‘Open Access’ journals which may be of relevance to users. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.  This is a 12-month tenure track faculty appointment, reporting to the Director of the library.

Required
MLS from ALA-accredited library school. Minimum of five years of professional experience.  Familiarity with link resolvers, ILS serials modules, and electronic resource knowledgebases.  Knowledge of emerging technologies, ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks, and flexibility in a dynamic and changing environment.

Preferred
Supervisory experience. Knowledge of scientific, technical or medical serials.  Previous experience with ERMs.

Environment
The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson is the health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi. Rowland Medical Library serves the schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health related professions and graduate studies. Jackson is centrally located in Mississippi, approximately three hours from Memphis and New Orleans.
